What are the check-in and check-out times?

Guaranteed check-in is 4 p.m. Check-out is noon. Arriving early? We offer complimentary luggage storage.

Yes, you can earn member discounts, early check-in and more with our rewards program.

The resort fee is $49 plus tax, and includes valet parking, golf club rentals, fitness center classes and much more.

Overnight valet parking is included with the nightly resort fee. For day visits, valet is $15 plus tax. We offer parking validation if you dine at Hearth ’61, reserve a cabana or have a tee time. Self-parking is not available, unless noted for special events. Need to plug in? Tesla and universal EV charging stations are available.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is the closest major airport, 10 miles southwest of the resort.

Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) is 37 miles southeast of the resort, offering limited air service through low-cost carriers Allegiant and Spirit Airlines.

Scottsdale Airport, which is 9 miles northeast of the resort, services corporate and private jets daily. It does not offer commercial airline commuter service.

Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale is pet friendly throughout the resort guestrooms and in select residences, and pets stay free. If you are traveling with a pet, please be sure to let us know when you make your reservation. A complimentary pet amenity package is available upon request and includes a pet bed, food and water bowls, bottled water, doggie bags and a pet amenity.

Please Note:

  • Pets must be fully trained and kept on a leash or carrier when outside your room.
  • Pets are not permitted in the pool area, fitness center, golf course, or inside Rusty’s or Hearth ’61. Pets are welcome on the patio at Rusty’s.
  • We ask that pets not be left unattended in a guestroom unless necessary.
  • If you will be leaving your pet in your guestroom, please place the pet door hanger on the door to alert our staff.
  • Pets must be registered with the hotel and a pet policy letter must be filled out.

The resort is 4 miles from Downtown Scottsdale’s renowned dining, nightlife, shopping and art galleries.

The pools are open to overnight resort guests and members. Additionally, those renting daybeds and cabanas can access the pools at The Citizens Club.

Please note, pool floats, pool toys, balloons, streamers and all types of hanging décor are not permitted in the cabanas or pool areas.

All guestrooms are non-smoking. However, smoking is allowed on guestroom balconies and patios.

Due to a high number of requests, in order to ensure a great guest experience, personal photo shoots are not permitted around the resort grounds.

There are select opportunities for paid photo shoots on site, which require advance approval and signed release forms. Any shoot inside a guestroom also requires advanced approval. Please contact us for more details.

Yes, Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale offers Accessible Guestrooms and a range of ADA amenities.

Nightly resort credit can be used at Hearth ’61 restaurant and bar, Rusty’s, The Short Course, The Citizens Club and PV Mercantile, as well as for in-room dining, minibar and in-room movies.

It cannot be applied toward the room rate, resort fee, in-room massage services or third-party charges such as transportation.

Due to alcohol being available in guestrooms, you must be 21 or older to book.

Mountain Shadows does not have a shuttle. The resort is a short drive from Old Town Scottsdale, Arcadia and the Biltmore neighborhoods.

Mountain Shadows will obtain an advanced authorization on all forms of payment. This authorization amount will be equal to the room and tax portion of the entire stay, plus an additional $200/night to cover any incidental charges (unless pre-existing billing terms are in place). Additional authorization will be obtained if the pre-set limit is exceeded. Mountain Shadows recommends the use of a credit card when checking in to the property. Please note that when using a debit card upon check-in, the financial institution may place a hold equal to twice the estimated charges on an account for up to 10 days after check-out. Please contact specific financial institutions for inquiries on this subject. The form of payment given upon check-in, be it a credit card or debit card, will be used to settle all charges to this account unless pre-existing billing terms are in place.

Yes; orders will be left at the front desk for you to pick up. Please note that the resort staff does not deliver third-party orders, and we will not share your room number with the person delivering your order.

The resort has a no-party policy for guest rooms and suites to ensure that all guests can enjoy a comfortable stay. Please note that if we are made aware that there are too many occupants in a room, or that the noise level is disturbing other guests, hotel security will visit the accommodation and request that the matter be immediately remedied. If security must return again for the same issue, the occupants of the rooms will be evicted without a refund.

Bookings of 5-9 rooms must be approved by our leisure sales manager and may require additional guarantees. Requests for 10+ rooms are considered group blocks and are contracted through our group sales department.

Cancelation requests for reservations booked directly must be received at least 48 hours prior to 4 p.m. on check-in day to avoid a fee equal to one night’s room and tax. This fee, if applicable, will be directed to the form of guarantee holding the reservation. Certain rate plans may require full pre-payment with no option for refund. Group reservations may be subject to alternative cancelation policies; please contact the sales department with questions concerning group reservations. If your reservation was booked through a third party, please note that any requests for modifications or cancelations must be made through the original booking site.
