Chef de Cuisine Yulissa Acosta
A NATURAL TALENT
Chef de Cuisine Yulissa Acosta leads the culinary team at Hearth ’61. Born in Nogales, Mexico, she was raised in Phoenix and became interested in a culinary career in high school. Yulissa took cooking classes during her last two years, winning a scholarship that led her to take a pastry class at the Classic Cooking Academy in Scottsdale. She then went on to work at Bink’s Midtown, Bink’s Kitchen & Bar, and Mirabel Golf Club. In April 2017, she joined the Hearth ‘61 team as a cook and helped open the restaurant, later being promoted to sous chef in February 2018. As chef de cuisine, she is responsible for daily operations at
Hearth ’61.
With nearly a decade of industry experience, she has trained with a variety of renowned chefs in the Valley, including Kevin Binkley, Brandon Gauthier, and Mountain Shadows’ own chefs Charles Wiley and Alfred Muro.
